Raymond Dacey is a Professor in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Idaho. He also has served on the faculties of the Universities of Iowa and Oklahoma. He holds a BS in Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University and a PhD in Economics and Management Science from Purdue University.

His areas of expertise are in General Decision Theory, International Relations, Peace Science, Behavioral Finance, and the Philosophy of Science. He currently teaches in the areas of Finance and Business Analytics. He is currently engaged in research projects concerning the role of domestic influences on the initiation and termination of international conflict (with Lisa J. Carlson, Department of Politics and Philosophy at the University of Idaho), and the disposition effect under low and high volatility (with Piotr Zielonka, Department of Physics at the Warsaw University of Natural Sciences).

He served as President of the Peace Science Society (International) for the 2003-2004. He also serves on the editorial boards of Synthese, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and Peace Science, Peace Economics, and Public Policy.
